We have played key roles as Architects and Principal Designers on major developments including Carlsberg’s state-of-the-art brewery in Hamburg, Arla’s flagship mega dairy in Aylesbury, and multiple long-term education and community projects. Our experience ranges from strategic master planning and complex procurement strategies to fast-track refurbishments and highly specialised fit-outs—always with a focus on quality, efficiency, and client needs.

Barking & Dagenham Youth Zone
– London | 2016 – 2019

CLIENT | Onside Youth Zone

SERVICE | Principal Designer

A purpose-built facility for young people aged 8 – 19.

The site is on the corner of the existing park bounded by Montrose Avenue and the Northern Line, both of which have played important roles in the massing and organisation of the design. Providing the mix of facilities based upon OnSide Youth Zones 21st Century Youth Facility Model, the facility includes a sports hall, climbing wall, fitness suite, health and wellbeing project rooms and mentoring kitchen organised around a central recreation area, along with a roof top 3G kick pitch.

Timber cladding and natural stone on the façade have been selected in this park setting, along with fibre cement panels and fenestration to create a careful synergy of materiality to provide variation and interest to the park facing elevations and also help to break up the massing of the sports hall.

Carlsberg New Brewery – Hamburg

ROLE | Architect

New brewery development for Carlsberg Ltd in Hamburg, Germany. The development is 41,000sqm and includes production and warehouse facility and head office. New brewery on a green field site replacing existing brewery in the centre of Hamburg using a green recycling economy approach in the use of equipment relocated from existing Carlsberg breweries together with the purchase of new equipment.

Role of Architect producing the masterplan for the new brewery including development through to a design and build tender design. Our advice has covered permitting and procurement strategies and administration of the tender activity including assessment and recommendation of contractor appointment including civil works and co-ordination of direct subcontract fit out process installation works.

Aldridge School – Aldridge – West Midlands
– 1995 – 2020

ROLE | Architect and Principal Designer

We have been the retained architect for Aldridge school for over 25 years completing 37 projects including new science block, new arts block, new windows and curtain walling across the site, new kitchen and dining facilities, new offices and meeting rooms, refurbishment of science labs, school infrastructure M&E projects and many more refurbishment projects.

Role of Architect and principal designer ensuring construction project works are planned to minimise the impact on school life and enhancing the learning environment. Many projects fast track and detailed planning to allow them to be completed in the 7 weeks summer school holidays.

Arla – Aylsebury | 2010 – 2013

CLIENT | Arla Foods [UK] Ltd

VALUE | £87.8 million

ROLE | Principal Designer

New 720,920 sq ft flagship mega dairy development capable of processing and packaging up to one billion litres of milk per year for Arla Foods Ltd in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. New dairy on a green field 62 acre site which is the largest fresh milk processing dairy in Europe. The development comprised of; the main dairy (624,080 sq ft), energy efficient state of the art office building (37,600 sq ft), Energy Centre (53,800 sq ft) and a Transport Office (5,380 sq ft) which were completed in 78 weeks.

Role of Principal Designer including civil works and co-ordination of direct subcontract fit out process installation works. Health and Safety Audits every two weeks of the Principal Contractor and reporting to client.

Gerber Factory – Bridgewater | 2003 – 2008

ROLE | Principal Designer

New chilled drinks factory development for Gerber Juice Ltd in Bridgewater, Somerset. The development is 77,000sqm built in 5 phases and includes production and warehouse facility and head office. New factory on a green field site adjacent to the River Parrot. Efficient and flexible masterplan with individual phases. New habitats around the site to provide a natural environment for wildlife and adopted rainwater harvesting to create an attractive and sustainable development.

Arup Campus Offices – Solihull | 2008

ROLE | Architect & Principal Designer

Refurbishment project creating new board room, kitchen, changing rooms, server and data hub. New board room and meeting rooms fitted with DC glazing screen wall for meeting privacy and acoustic folding wall for meeting room flexibility.

Role of Architect and Principal Designer from scheme design through to completion. Our role including civil works and co-ordination of direct subcontract fit out process installation works. All works completed on time and within budget with minimal disruption to the existing office environment.
